Book Review - The Heel by Chattanathan D
📝RATING:
⚡️Storyline: 3.8/5
⚡️Literature: 3.9/5
✒️PLOT:
Nathan has been posted as a Sub-Inspector in Guntakal District, which is a sleepy town with not much action.
That was about to change!
A young girl was found dead in the track near Guntakal railway station which seemed like a suicide. However, Nathan wasn't convinced.
Was it a murder? Who would have enmity towards a young girl?
✒️VERDICT
🏅Pros:
1) The author has been able to pace the story well to keep the suspense going without the readers losing interest in any segment of the book. The author has smartly introduced multiple characters connected to the victim which kept the readers in a maze of guessing game right till the end.
2) I loved the companionship between Nathan and his wife which was a welcome solace amidst the action-packed chaos of murder investigation.
It was a beautiful reprieve to read about the love and respect between the couple without the author having to divert attention from the main plot or insert any forceful romantic scene.
👎Cons:
Somewhere, I felt a few crucial answers were missing and the plot sort of ended in a gasping cliff-hanger which can be a good or a bad aspect depending on the reader. I like clear answers to the suspense built without having to go through sleepless nights on analysing the unanswered mysteries.
🌟Overall, a good one-time read to get your mental adrenaline rush and enjoy a cold murder mystery
