📖PLOT:
This book entails the journey of a husband trapped under the emotional tug-of-war between his mother, wife and sometimes the more formidable and mischievous daughter.
Manav is your regular husband who is trying his best to blend the various spices in his life in appropriate proportions- his fiesty wife, Piya (the chili in the family), his effervescent mother (adds the mint effect to the family) and his mother-in-law (the salty effect in his life).
It is important for Manav to ensure that the chili, salt and mint mixes in correct proportion so that he can maintain his peace of mind.
🎭Will Manav be able to strike a balance?
✒VERDICT
🥇Pros
1) I am in love with the simplicity of the plot which send out a very important life lesson in a satirical manner. The author has crafted the plot from the point of view of a husband in a very interesting, funny yet sensitive manner.
Not many books touch upon the travails of a husband in a family stuck amidst fiesty females. This book is a refreshing reality for readers of all genres.
2) I liked the characterization of all the family members who had an important 'spice' to add to the chutney of Manav and Piya's life, even if some of their roles are small.
3) This book is a short, simple and crisp read which can give you a glimpse of reality of a married life with a pinch of salt (and some other spices as well).
👎Cons:
I came across a few punctuation errors which I can afford to ignore amidst the flow of the family drama.
💫Overall, it is a good one-time read which can be enjoyed by all types of family members who inadvertently contribute to the spice (or lack of it) in the family.
