MY TAKE:
I was absolutely exhilarated by the fact that I would get an opportunity to read a story with Sherlock and Irene Adler as central characters having romantic interests. When I read the Sherlock Holmes volume  penned by Arthur Conan Doyle, I was immediately in awe of the feisty lady named Irene Adler who could take on the great Sherlock Holmes purely with her wit and intellectualism. What added to the unique flavour was the fact that the perceptively romantically indifferent Sherlock started having feelings for a woman because her personality and intelligence was big turn-on.

I jumped at the prospect of reading any form of genre revolving around Sherlock and Irene and the author, KD Sherrinford, lived up to my mental hype and expectation with this book befitting the mystery of 2 great investigators.

In "Meet Me In Milan" by KD Sherrinford, we witness the fascinating dynamics between Irene Adler and Sherlock Holmes. As Sherlock embarks on another intriguing case in London, Irene takes the reins in Milan, where her friend Renata faces a life-altering accusation.

What's most striking about this book is the delicate balance between friendship and deduction. Irene's unwavering belief in Renata's innocence and her determination to gather evidence are both inspiring and heartwarming. It's a tale of the unwavering loyalty of friends and their shared commitment to justice.

Sherrinford's narrative is nothing short of a masterclass in storytelling. The characters are vivid and multifaceted, their emotions palpable. "Meet Me In Milan" not only keeps you on the edge of your seat with its mystery but also touches your heart with its portrayal of human bonds. If you're seeking a story that combines the thrill of a mystery with the warmth of friendship, this book is a must-read.

Most importantly, I enjoyed the author's meticulous research in showcasing the idiosyncrasies of the era and the backdrop of locations which felt very realistic as if I am transported back to the Victorian era. The writing style is beautiful and in sync with the language used during the Sherlock era.

I would highly recommend this book if you're seeking a story that combines the thrill of a mystery with the warmth of friendship, this book is a must-read.
