📝PLOT:

After the tremendous success of Detective Ghanshyam Shashtri on the Rajni Mehta case, the Ahmedabad Police reached out to the famed detective to help them with the suspicious death of Payal Kothari, the daughter of famous businessman, Vithalbhai Kothari, in a hotel room.

Payel was found dead due to the effect of sleeping pills. The case pointed towards suicide as CCTV footage shows no one entered or left the room throughout the duration of the night.

However, Ghanshyam Shashtri was not convinced on the suicide theory and when he unravelled the horrifying secrets tumbling out of the Kothari family's closet, he was convinced that it might not have been a suicide.

🎭What factually happened on Saturday night when Payal died?

✒VERDICT

🥇Pros:

1) I commend the author for holding a good pace throughout the plot and logically unravel the mystery. In many Whodunit plots I find the detective getting a sudden idea or brain wave and voila the mystery is solved. The author made the plot more realistic and believable.

2) I liked the character of Ghanshyam Shashtri, a local Gujarati lad, who can pass off as your boy-next-door with an intelligent flair. Ghanshyam's character evolved well who tried to be thorough with the proceedings and had no qualms in admitting the rookie mistakes he made and how he learnt from it.

3) Kudos to the author for popping up surprises and ensuring shocking plot twists at every other page.

👎Cons:

The only drawback of this book is its sentence structures and grammatical errors. I found the sentence structuring a bit amateurish and could spot a lot of basic tense and voice errors.

💫All in all, Ghanshyam Shashtri series has shaped up well, always managing to create a thrilling and mysterious environment around the readers.
